5G licenses issued this year: pre-commercial start next year

From this action point of view, the three major operators should be able to get 5G licenses before the end of this year, and the spectrum of each division has also been determined, and this time is the beginning of 5G commercial, the previous test work has been basically completed.


It is reported that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has chosen to release 5G spectrum and licenses during this time period, which is in sync with the global 5G deployment rhythm. It is also widely believed that the allocation of spectrum will affect the 5G development process. Because the spectrum is uncertain, it will lead to huge investment and unclear investment by operators and equipment manufacturers.


At present, China has only planned 5G spectrum and has not yet allocated it to the three major operators. After the 5G spectrum planning is completed, the next step is to allocate the three major operators.


According to the notice given by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China's 5G will be pre-commercialized in 2019 and officially commercialized in 2020. According to CITIC Construction Investment statistics, the 5G main investment of Chinese operators will reach 1.23 trillion yuan, a 68% increase over the 4G investment scale.
